Ministry Update beginning January 9th, 2022

A new year brings exciting changes happening in the Preschool and Kids Ministry. Beginning this Sunday, January 9th, preschool classes will be meeting over in the Kids wing during Connect Group and Worship Hour. The Preschool Ministry (Birth through Kindergarten) will be in the classroom’s downstairs and the Kids Ministry (1st grade through 5th grade) will be in the classrooms upstairs. Drop off will look the same as TeamKID on Wednesday’s. There will be check-in stations in Playland and at the Red Door.

All pickups will take place in Playland concluding the service. This change will help families to have one drop off and pick up location during the time that the worship service will be over at the Annex.

If you have any questions about these new changes, feel free to reach out to me at BRIANNA LANE

COVID safety - We are only meeting at 10:30, currently. Teachers are trained in all ADH requirements and will wear a mask at all times. All teachers and children have their temperature taken prior to entry and wash their hands upon arrival in the classroom. Extra sanitizing is done before and after each session following state protocols.

You can be sure your babies and preschoolers are handled with tender, loving care as we seek to meet their physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional needs. From changing a diaper to the Kindergartener's deep questions, we want to serve your precious young ones with excellence and teach them about Jesus.

On Sunday mornings at 10:30am we use "The Gospel Project" curriculum for babies through Kindergarten. The Gospel Project for Preschool takes preschoolers on a chronological journey through God’s big story—the story of redemption weaved through Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation over a 3 yr period. We are laying a foundation of knowledge about God, and His son Jesus, that can grow with a child throughout their preschool years.

The Gospel Project for Preschool will help you teach preschoolers to:

  • See the Big Story: Preschoolers will understand that the Bible is not a collection of stories, but God’s unified story of redemption.
  • Read Scripture as Christ-centered: The Leader Guide and Activity Pages provide a deep, Christ-centered Bible study experience for all ages.
  • Grasp Essential Christian Doctrines: The Big Picture Questions and Answers are designed to help kids understand essential theological doctrines of the Christian faith.
  • Study the Old and New Testaments: Kids spend equal time in the Old and New Testaments, learning the key distinctions of each and how they fit together.

Safety is a top priority at East Side. Every teacher undergoes a background check and safety training before serving in our Preschool department. The entrance to our preschool wing remains locked and can only be accessed by authorized teachers and staff during a class session or service. All children receive a unique ID code when they check in each week at the preschool desk. Only parents with the matching ID can pick up a child. This ensures the safety of your child while they are with us, so you can then freely attend class or worship, knowing your child is protected.
